Railway System
The local rail service is provided by Mississippi Central Railroad. This system connects with two regional networks of carriers. Burlington Northern serves the Midwest, southeast, and northwest markets including Canada. Norfolk Southern serves the southeast.
Highway System
Due to our central location, Lafayette County is within 400 miles of market areas in eleven states. These states are Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.
- North-South State Routes 7, 9, 315 and 331.
- East-West State Routes 6, 30, 314, 328 and 334.
- State Route 6 connects with Interstate 55.
